History of Underground Pet Fencing 
 
In 1973, Richard Peck invented and patented an electronic way to contain your pet. He called his invention The Invisible Fence®.

In 1990 DogWatch entered the industry and offered consumers an alternative to The Invisible Fence® brand. Since that time DogWatch® has developed four generations of products to offer its customers the safest containment alternatives for their pets.  We are the only company that can offer you a digital FM fence system -- the safest for your pet.

Many companies have come and gone in pet containment. Our industry grew from two manufacturers, The Invisible Fence Company® and DogWatch® in 1990, to thirteen manufacturers in 1993. Much of this growth came from companies that offered do-it-yourself product. Most of these vendors are no longer in business.
 
In 2006, The Invisible Fence Company® was sold to the owner of the PetSafe brand. In a few short years, the industry was reduced to about six manufacturers. DogWatch® is a supplier that has a solid track record. We now have OVER 18 years experience in the industry and are a proven leader. DogWatch® was incorporated in 1990 by founder and CEO, Fred King whose mission was to provide pet owners with a superior pet containment system and unsurpassed customer service.  All of our products are assembled and tested at our factory in Natick, Massachusetts.
 
Today, an international network of experienced dealers represent DogWatch Hidden Fence  systems in the United States and nine countries. DogWatch products are sold exclusively though DogWatch dealers who provide installation, training and service.
